Hello, I hope you can get back to me and assist on a question I have to mount a custom shifter carrier to make this work in my E30. Do you know what model, or have a part number for the said shifter carrier that can be shortened or welded and/or dimensions on where to cut to get the right dimensions to weld to fit geometry of E30? Some people are saying to run this box you must use solid mount shifter which id rather have an OEM feel with maybe just upgraded bushings in the shifter selector linkage and mechanism.

Any help would be appreciated,

No, I don’t have information about it.

I just followed the instructions from people who say that an M54 flywheel should work with changing the starter. This engine came with the GS6-37BZ transmission in the E46. You can ask the question in E46 forums.
There are single-mass flywheels for the M54 engine.

Thanks very much for the detailed write-up. Much appreciated. I am looking at doing the same swap but with a Single Mass flywheel conversion.

I saw someone’s YouTube video who used this kit: NTY NZS-BM-004. I see your DMF is used on the M54 engines whereas the kit I’m looking for is specified as an N47 D20 kit.

Do you know if the flywheels are interchangible between the M54 and N47 engines?

Just want to make sure before I purchase

I used a dual mass flywheel to single mass flywheel conversion kit which is available on Ebay. It’s worth mentioning this option in your wiki.
